The contract is signed and winging it’s way over. Pale, from this point known as “Tempting The Enemy” is officially a Carina Press novel. :) My first paranormal romance will be available this summer!

And before you wonder, yes, it’s full-sized novel (80k+), which is why I’ve been extra careful on the editing this last week. Not that I’m not careful anyway, but world-building details require a lot of double-checking with your own head. (And y’all know mine is occasionally a tad leaky)

I honestly cannot explain how excited I am about this book. It’s a new direction to many of you, but a culminated dream of mine. I’ve wanted to write para for SO long now. It’s finally happening!

Alas, so is this plaguey cold hubby and I got. I’m doing everything I can to keep it from descending into the lungs and reigniting the pneumonia. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please, cause I SO do not want to go through that again. :)

Also, I’m also editing my July contemporary release, “All Or Nothing”. Sigh. Vastly different book and I love it in a completely different way. These aren’t cuddly characters, which is probably why they’re so deep in my heart. So, the back to back edits, galleys for “Burn For Me” and the upcoming trailer for “All Of You” have been keeping me hopping. I’m hoping to have the trailer ready by the weekend. Cross your fingers! I’m pretty sure the double edits are going to hit my desk anytime now.

Hugs to everyone and keep up with your Emergen-C!
Dee

Well, if you haven’t heard, Hubby is currently without job. Damn unfortunate, but he’s working hard at finding a new one.

Of course, having hubby home does have a way of derailing my own schedule at times. He’s dedicated to his job search though, which means I’m free to do what I like.

Which is…

I know there’s stuff I COULD do, but most of it is long termy stuff or…yes, I’ll just say it. It’s boring.

Then there’s a selection of household things I could do. Filing. Cleaning. Boring.

Or I could write, but I’m set to get edits today, so getting back into a story NOT the edits is not a smart idea. I won’t want to do the edits.

Even Twitter is not holding it’s magical thrall. I’m still irritated by American Idol last night and their pointless rejection of Angela Martin, whom I’ve been cheering for for three years. If you can actually take a person aside and tell them that sometimes, they’re simply annoying…HOW the holy hell do you accept them and reject someone who is better qualified? When I get the answer to that, I’ll possibly accept that the judges made a reasonable choice. Til then, I’m waiting for someone else to pick up on this talented lady and hope that she can get some kind of a break. It would give me hope, because my family could use one too. If I can’t have one, she should.

Well, lookie that, I did do something. I ranted impotently. Sigh. But now I’m done, so… I guess it’s time for laundry. :)

Sending my best to all of you,
Dee

So, I turned in my first round edits for “All Or Nothing” and I’m reminded anew that even if this book wasn’t mine, I’d really like it. I just love watching difficult people fall in love.

Well, in books anyway. In real life, you just wanna smack them with shovels.

Actually, you might want to smack Lucas and Belle with a few shovels too. But I promise, they are worth the read. :)

So, I’ve been a good little writer and worked out my taxes, paid some bills and got the editing done. It’s a beautiful sunshiny day–meaning it’s fricken hot–and I’m planning my next few months.

Quite a bit to do for my various jobs, but the one I have the most control of is the writing. Next I need to come up with a 2k story for a free read and finish a novella. Oh, and edit Pale.

Hmmm. Perhaps I need to reorganize my schedule to include 36 hour days?

What about you? How’s your soon to be Spring shaping up?

Updates!

As is the way of all young kids, the boy brought home a bug. And it grew happy here, and prospered.

Today is day two of weird stomach flu like thing. I feel like I’ve been out to sea for a few days and have not yet adjusted to the motion. This is not a good feeling. Thankfully, the twins are looking to be over the hump with it. With any luck, the grossness will be gone soon.

I’m working on some great updates for y’all, so I should have that up in time for the upcoming holiday.

I admit, I’m having a really hard time facing Valentine’s Day, so my posts are going to be few and far between this month (so what’s new), but I promise to share some Lonnigan fun with you before that day arrives.

Big hugs,
Dee
